Congratulations, Mr. Reed! It’s time to pass the Hawk again, and this week Ms. Jordan has chosen… Billy Reed! She shared, "He is an excellent model of having a growth mindset for the students he works with. He consistently has a calm and reassuring presence, contributing to the feeling of stability within the school for those kids whose lives outside of these walls may not always be so stable." Thank you, Mr. Reed, for your heart, your consistency, and the positive impact you make every day.

Mrs. Anderson’s Pre-K class visited the media center today for storytime and loved "If I Built a House" by Chris Van Dusen! They were also the first to experience our brand new Big Blue Blocks — a collection of "loose parts" like bricks, cylinders, chutes, and channels, perfect for creative play! Thank you to Amicalola EMC Bright Ideas and Hill City PTO for making this possible with their generous grants!

A big THANK YOU to the Amicalola Garden Club for awarding a $200 grant to Hill City! Mrs. Chapman was thrilled to receive this generous gift and is excited to put it to great use in our school garden. Watch us grow!

Congratulations to Bryson, Rylan, Paige, and Owen from Mrs. Davis' 2nd-grade ELA class! These students worked hard and brought their spring benchmark scores up by a level — and in some cases, even more! Your perseverance and dedication to improving your reading skills has paid off! Way to go!

Field Trip Fun Alert! Some of our Hawks from Mrs. Duncan’s and Mrs. Georgia’s classes had a slime-tastic time at the Sloomoo Institute in Atlanta! Students got hands-on with over 25 different slimes, exploring a rainbow of colors, unique textures, and fun scents. The highlight? Creating their very own slime and taking a squishy walk through the famous slime pond!

Congratulations to Micah! This kindergartner in Mrs. Gartrell's class has mastered all of his sight words and continues to grow his reading skills. What better way to celebrate than a special trip to the Book Vending Machine? Way to go, Micah — keep up the great work!

Fine Arts Night is just ONE week away, and we can hardly wait! 🗓️ Friday, May 2 🕕 6:00–7:30 p.m. Come celebrate the artistic talents of our amazing Hawks through a night filled with art, music, and poetry. The gallery walk begins at 6:00 p.m., and the Harmonious Hill City Hawks will perform at 6:30 p.m. You won’t want to miss it! #FineArtsNight To add to the fun, our PTO Spring Fling will also be from 6:00-7:30 p.m. on the playground!

Deputy Roach expands his duties to "Stuffy Surgeon!" When a second grader approached Deputy Roach with a request to help his beloved stuffed rabbit whose leg was falling off, our favorite deputy didn't hesitate. He tracked down a sewing kit and performed a top-notch "surgery." The bunny patient was placed in recovery—right on Deputy Roach's office couch—and the student was allowed to visit until bunny was feeling better. We’re thrilled to report a full recovery for our brave stuffy, thanks to the expert skills and big heart of Deputy Roach!

We are cheering for Harper! This young reader in Mrs. Bryson's class has mastered the kindergarten high-frequency words and met the end-of-the-year goal! She celebrated by choosing a great new book from the Book Vending Machine. Well done, Harper! Congratulations on your BIG achievement!

Hippity-hoppity, let's draw some bunnies! Mrs. Hamilton's PreK artists put their creativity to work as they followed "directed drawing" instructions to create the sweetest bunny rabbits. Just look at their adorable masterpieces!

Mrs. Collins' students had an egg-cellent week of learning! They researched online using Pebble Go, exploring exciting topics and gathering facts for their projects. Then, they practiced multiplication with a fun game of "Shake the Egg"—rolling dice, solving problems, and building skills with every shake!
