PCSD's extracurricular spotlight for this month is Jasper Middle School's Yearbook/Photography club! This year, JMS has fifteen fifth and sixth grade students who are meeting after school, twice a month, to learn about photography and take pictures for the yearbook. The students have been issued school cameras to use throughout each week to capture life here at JMS.

This month's PCSD Student Spotlight goes to Jasper Middle School's Lexi Heine!
"Lexi is an avid reader and has been leading the way in JMS's new Reading is Rewarding Program! Lexi has been reading great books and writing about them. She has wonderful insight and has challenged herself with her book selections," said Mrs. Steinhauer from JMS's Media Center.
The Reading is Rewarding Program is available to all students at JMS! Students can stop by the Media Center for directions and more information.

This month, PCSD's Organization Spotlight goes to JMS. They wanted to spotlight their partnership with the Chevy Back to School Program and the opportunities it provides for enriching our children's academic experiences!

This month's Clean School Spotlight goes to Jasper Middle School! These students took extra care to help clean up after a Behavior Celebration. JMS takes great pride in their school and the students know that it takes everyone to keep the school looking its best! Shout out to those students: Jake Kirby, Sam Schreiber, Sylas Boyd, Hattie Poag, Treasure Nelson and Chelsea Rainwater!

We all know that our school attendance is a powerful predictor of student outcomes. Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. Here at PCSD we encourage building this habit early as good attendance will help our children do well in high school, college, and at work. That is why we want to congratulate Jasper Middle School for having the Best Student Attendance for the month of August. Way to kick off the new school year!

JMS has multiple events for our parents and guardians. Our first event of the year is on Wednesday, September 11 from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. This is a drop-in event!
