Pickens High Students Beat National and State Average on ACT

Pickens High's class of 2025 beat both the national and state average on the ACT in every subject area, as well as in the average composite. The district's highest scores were in reading. Pickens High's class of 2025 recorded an average reading score of 26.3, compared to the national average of 20.0 and the state average of 22.4.

“We are incredibly proud of our students for their outstanding ACT scores,” said Superintendent Dr. Travis Thomas. “We aspire for every student to be enrolled, enlisted, or employed upon graduation. This evidence verifies we are trending in a positive direction and supporting our students as they progress towards being college and career ready."

The ACT is taken in lieu of or along with the SAT, and the Class of 2025’s ACT scores mirror its strong SAT results released earlier this fall.
