Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, the Pickens County School District (PCSD) will introduce a new learning pathway designed to provide students with flexible, high-quality educational opportunities.
PCSD Virtual Academy will offer a full-time virtual learning option for students in grades 6–12. This program is designed to deliver rigorous instruction through a digital platform while maintaining strong academic expectations, accountability, and student support.
This program is designed to meet a variety of student needs, including course recovery, flexible scheduling, and other non-traditional educational pathways. The goal is to expand access, increase student engagement, and support student success while preparing learners for college, careers, and living-wage employment.
To help families learn more about this opportunity, the district will host two information sessions at the Pickens Junior High Auditorium:
· March 23 at 6:00 p.m.
· April 23 at 6:00 p.m.
These sessions will provide details about the enrollment process and eligibility requirements, student expectations, academic requirements, graduation pathways, and parent responsibilities. Each session will also include a question-and-answer opportunity.
