Reminder that August 29th is a Virtual Learning Day for all students at PCSD.

Attendance Matters! School attendance is crucial for academic success. Regular attendance helps students grasp concepts, participate in class, and build essential skills. It also fosters social interaction and a sense of belonging, while laying the foundation for future success in higher education and careers.

At last night's Board of Education meeting, Ava Harrison, a student at Pickens High School talked about her time spent over the summer as part of the Governor's Honors program. We also had a number of recognitions for outstanding service which included Deputy Blake McClure with Pickens County Sheriff's Office, and PCSD staff members Jennifer Hoffard, Jacob Poole, Stacey Williams and Chris Williams.

Attempted Unauthorized Entry at Pickens Junior High - At around 2:45 PM on August 5, 2025, Campus Law Enforcement Deputy Blake McClure witnessed an adult male attempting to pull on doors and gain entry to Pickens Junior High School. Deputy McClure made contact with the individual, who then attempted to flee. After a short foot chase, the subject was taken into custody. This incident occurred after afternoon dismissal and is still an active investigation. More information will be shared as it becomes available. We are grateful for the swift response by Deputy McClure in helping keep our school campuses safe.
