PCSD's Clean School Spotlight goes to PHS’s Clean Bathroom Committee. This is a group of students who want to better Pickens County High School by improving the conditions of the restrooms. They believe that providing a more appealing campus will create a sense of pride in the student body and cut down on vandalism and destruction of property.

During breakfast, Savannah Pedine, a third grader at Hill City Elementary, saw a kindergarten friend struggling with her hair bow. In a quick and simple act of kindness, she jumped up and helped perfect her hairstyle, showing that it doesn't take much to be kind.

All Pickens County Schools and the Central Office are closed this week, November 25th - 29th, for Thanksgiving Break.

Thanks to the generosity of our PCSD staff and to help celebrate Hospice Week, we were able to present Georgia Mountains Hospice, who support patients and their families in our community when they need it the most, with a monetary donation.

Help a Child Smile dental services addresses these concerns by offering in school dental care at no cost to the school. Parents and guardians can sign up your children today but talking with your child's school nurse. Help a Child Smile will be coming back in the spring!

Today is National Substitute Teacher Day. Substitute teachers come from every facet of life with experience in math, science, language arts, history, business, and more. Focusing on the continued progress of a classroom's education, these teachers play a vital role in maintaining high levels of education in every school system. PCSD appreciates you!

November 21st is National Parent/Guardian Involvement Day, a day when we recognize the contributions of parents and guardians in schools and highlight the importance of family involvement in education. It is also a reminder that parental involvement is crucial throughout the entire year.

Education Support Professionals Day (ESP Day) is a day to recognize and appreciate the contributions of education support professionals (ESPs) to public education. ESPs are the people who keep schools running smoothly, including bus drivers, custodians, food service staff, administrative assistants, bookkeepers, and more. They make up over 40% of a school's staff, but their work is often overlooked. Today is your day and know that everyone in PCSD appreciates you!
