Our Leadership Academy team, alongside our instructional coaches, has been working hard planning and preparing for the official rollout of our Portrait of a Graduate. This project will align our focus in grades K-12 on the characteristics we want all graduating Dragons to possess. We are excited to share the activities, conversations, and lessons with our teachers and students as we strive to build well-rounded students to lead and serve beyond our schools!

On May 7th, we hosted our Annual ESOL Parent and Family Night. Parents and families of our ESOL students throughout the district were invited to come and learn more about the ESOL program, the supports their students receive, ways to help their students at home, and how to read the ACCESS test results. Families got to play BINGO for fun door prizes and every student left with books to read at home. Everyone was also treated to Kona Ice!

Behind so many successful students is a mother, grandmother, step-mother, or guardian cheering them on. Thank you for supporting and encouraging our students every day.
From all of us at Pickens County School District, Happy Mother's Day!

We’re excited to host our PREP to Launch Day for our 7th–12th grade students on May 14th from 9:00-1:00. This is a day focused on helping each student take a meaningful step toward their future.
Students will have the opportunity to practice job interviews with supportive community members and district staff, highlight the skills they’ve been building, and explore different career paths. They’ll also learn more about what it takes to earn a high school diploma and move into meaningful employment.
We’re really proud of the growth our students are showing, and we’re grateful for the community partnerships that help create these opportunities and support their success.
