While everyone enjoys a well-deserved Spring Break, we also wanted to take a moment to recognize our amazing Assistant Principals. Across our 6 schools, these 12 leaders support our students, staff, and daily operations in countless ways. Their impact is felt in every classroom across the district. Thank you for all that you do!

Today is Paraprofessional Appreciation Day, and we want to celebrate them! On a day known for its jokes, there is nothing funny about how important our parapros are to our schools. Thank you for all that you do for PCSD and our students. You are a valued part of the Dragon Family!

We had a special visitor in PCSD yesterday! Georgia Teacher of the Year Rachel Kinsaul spent the day with us, visiting HCES, PHS, and PJHS, and even took time to speak with our staff at Pickens Junior High at the end of the day. Mrs. Kinsaul is an agriculture teacher from Morgan County and a National Teacher of the Year finalist. Thanks for spending your day with us and sharing your passion for educating. We enjoyed having you in Dragon Nation!

Please join us in congratulating Kellie Henson from Hill City Elementary on graduating from the G-CASE Administrator Development Academy (ADA)!
This year-long program through the Georgia Council of Administrators of Special Education includes 55 hours of in-person training covering leadership, legal and ethical practices, program oversight, collaboration with stakeholders, and equitable services for students.
The program culminates with a capstone presentation at the G-CASE Spring Conference in Athens.
We’re proud of Kellie's dedication to serving students and helping strengthen special education leadership in Pickens County Schools.

Even on virtual learning days, our bus drivers are hard at work!
Last week, our Transportation Department participated in a professional development session with Justin Old from Optimum Leadership Development. Our bus drivers spent time focusing on leadership, teamwork, and the important role they play in supporting Pickens County students each day.
